Action plan: Making Environmentally-friendly Enzyme
Location: Classroom
Theme: “Recycling Kitchen Waste through Environmental Protection DIY Production”
Activity content:
After discussion, we decided to use the kitchen waste in our daily life to make fruit peel enzyme, which can not only reduce food waste but also be used as an organic cleaner or organic fertilizer to reuse resources and share them with schools and community residents. In addition, it is hoped that the DIY action can encourage more people to start making enzymes from leftovers to reduce garbage production.
Benefits of fruit peel enzyme: It can be used for washing and cleaning, such as cleaning floors, toilets, kitchens, etc. It helps remove dirt and stains. Simple as it is, the effect is good.
How to solve the problem of materials: We collect the leftover fruit peels at home. How to share the peel cleaner after making: we thought of using waste PET bottles to contain the peel enzyme, which is not only environment-friendly but also reusable.
Learn about the production and materials of fruit peel enzyme from the film.
Put it into a container for mixing at the ratio of “sugar: peel: water=1:3:10.”
Activity implementation:
1.Use YouTube videos to understand the production and material preparation of fruit peel enzyme.
2.Carry out grouping and work division collaboration.
3.The teacher explains the uses of the peel enzyme, such as cleaning, fertilizer, oil scale decomposition, etc.
4.Each group conducts DIY production of fruit peel enzyme.
5.Each group presents their experience and shares their achievements.
Experience sharing:
It is very interesting to make detergent by hand for the first time. From peeling to completion, it is all handmade. It has the effect of “turning garbage into gold,” and also has a sense of accomplishment. Although the detergent made does not produce as many bubbles as products on the market, it is the least harmful to our hands. We use pineapple peel, orange peel, lemon peel, and other materials to make enzyme, which smells full of natural fragrance and is different from commercially available detergents. Commercially available detergents have a pungent smell and chemical components, which are not environment-friendly and easily affect the ecological environment.
It can be used after sealing for 3 months.
The self-made fruit peel enzyme cleaner is non-toxic and healthy.
