HSMTA 2019-2020

Initially, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying was going to be this year's entry for Chaparral High School, but the date had been set prior to the adjudication period being announced and the show would have been too late to be seen, so the decision was made to have Sweeney Todd be the school's representative performance. As it turns out, it was a little lucky going with the fall show, because unknown to everyone, all fourth quarter shows would be cancelled due to a pandemic!

15 schools had been seen, so the awards ceremony still happened virtually.

Normally, the schools perform on the Gammage stage, but since this was not a possibility, a showcase video was created. Having to edit the piece was a reminder of just how demanding the show had been and how well Chaparral Theatre had done. Below is the clip that was presented.
