Crimes of the Heart

Ordinarily, the majority of the productions are cast without understudys, except for maybe the leading roles. The previous play, The Good Doctor continued through a viral outbreak with several of the cast sick, and one cast member being unable to perform, so another cast member stepped in and read the script in those scenes.

Crimes of the Heart has 6 characters. Unlike The Good Doctor which has multiple smaller cast opportunities because of its structure, Crimes would be less able to survive missing cast members. Having an additional cast would also allow 6 more performers an opportunity, so even though rehearsing two casts is twice the work, the decision was made and an understudy performance was given.
