Must be in a 19x25 SS wire!!
The patient has to come in for consistent follow up appointments (typically every 2 weeks) while the kilroy spring is in, until the tooth is in position. This is SO important because if the Kilroy springs stays in too long, it can over extrude the tooth and cause severe damage. The spring moves fast!!!
Make sure the tooth is not blocked out, add bite turbos to open the bite to allow the tooth to jump the bite if needed.
Make sure the tooth has enough room! When the spring is placed, there should already be enough room. If there is any baby teeth involved, they should have already been extracted before this visit (the spring will not be able to be placed if that is the case).
