Rules and Expectations

  • Morning Routine- Each assistant is to show up 30 minutes before the morning meeting (7:30 typically). In this 30 minutes they are to go over the column for the day, treatment plan any starts, go over each patient and fill out their appointment notes, and do sterile duties, etc. It is each assistants responsibility to have their station stocked with burs, supplies, etc. and more importantly to be mentally and physically prepared for the day. If there is any question about your column or patients that should be discussed, this is done at the clinic meeting that starts at 7:30 every morning.

  • Being Late- We understand, things happen, but please communicate with your team lead to allow the clinic to prepare and make plans for patients that may need to be seen or meetings that may be missed. COMMUNICATION IS KEY!!

  • Time off/sick days- If you would like to take time off, a request may be filled out and submitted through your team lead. Please fill it out as early in advance as possible. If patients are already scheduled and no one is able to fill in, your request may not be given. We try to be as accommodating as possible, so request time off months in advance (if possible)!! The ultimate decision will be made by the doctor and the team lead. If you are calling out sick, you must provide a doctors note.

  • Drama- SAVE THE DRAMA FOR YOUR MAMA!! At Sukoff Orthodontics, we are a family! This is a safe place and we do not allow anyone to violate that. If there are issues they are solved directly and in the moment. We do not talk behind backs or talk down on any of our family members. If this is an issue, there will be consequences, and can even result in an immediate dismissal. If you have any problems, questions, or concerns, do not talk to another teammate, go straight to your team lead!

  • Working through lunches- Depending on appointment efficiency, you may not get a full hour lunch. If your appointment right before your lunch goes late that does not mean you just get to come back in an hour when you have a patient in 45 minutes. Adjustments can be made in some situations, but staying on time is ultimately your responsibility, so always be prepared. That means some days you should plan to bring a lunch, because you may not always have time to leave. You should be back 5 minutes before your first patient so that you have time to clock in, set up, and prepare before your appointment starts. If not, you will start your afternoon behind which leads to a very long afternoon.

  • Working as team/communication- Like it was said previously, COMMUNICATION IS KEY!! If you do not know how to, or you do not like to, you better start learning how to communicate because at Sukoff Orthodontics that is the #1 most important thing. Without communication, things can fall apart very quickly. It is ok to ask for help!! Especially if you are running behind. We are a family and we want everyone to succeed, so we always help and support each other.

  • Be a Go giver- You should have read the book the "Go Giver" and should know what this term means. Everyday in the office and outside the office you should live by the principles of being a GO GIVER!! These principles are:

  1. The Law of Value: Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment.

  2. The Law of Compensation: Your income is determined by how many people you serve and how well you serve them.

  3. The Law of Influence: Your influence is determined by how abundantly you place other people's interests first.

  4. The Law of Authenticity: The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself.

  5. The Law of Receptivity: The key to effective giving is to stay open to receiving.

  • These principles and keys will set you up for success and will allow you to provide the best care for our patients and to change their lives!! You will come to find that as you live these principles and apply them to your life, you will see it not only affect the lives of our patients, but also your own life!
