Artist Statement:
For this project, the goal was to complete a scientifically accurate piece of artwork of a duck. I decided on a King Eider because of the unique colors and head shape.
I used watercolor, colored pencils, and a white gel pen on watercolor paper.
I started by using watercolor to make the base color layering on top of that to add depth. Then I used colored pencil to add details and show texture on the duck and in the background. Finally, I used a white gel pen to show the highlight in the eye and show more feathers in the duck.
