I used colored pencil and graphite to create my picture

The main idea for this drawing was the Maine duck stamp competition. It’s where you choose a duck that is native to Maine and you draw\paint that type of duck as realistic as possible.

First I had to figure out what species of duck I wanted to draw and it had to be native to Maine. Then I had to figure out what kind of medium I wanted to use. I could have used paints, colored pencil, markers, or construction paper. I choose to do colored pencils because I don't have much experience with paints and because I thought that I could blend my colors together well. Then I had to go through of how I wanted to place my ducks. First I wanted to have the male and female swimming, then swimming with there babies, or the female sitting with her eggs but then I finally settled on the male and female flying together. Then I started coloring and making sure the colors and patterns were right because I didn't want to mess it up because the picture is suppose to be realistic.
