Spike the fish

18x24

Canvas, Paint, Paint marker

The main idea of these 3 art pieces was all about color and how to make all kinds of different colors from just red, yellow, and blue (the primary colors). But in order to get the lights and darks of those colors, I also had to mix in black and white.

First I went online and looked at what other students have done in the past to see if I could get an idea from that and I found a kid that did a fish but he\she made the scales of the fish all colorful but I didn't want to copy that. So I took the idea of painting a fish and made the fish's tail the main stare by putting all the vibrant colors in it but that wasn't enough for me so I gave the fish a very vibrant mohawk with bright orange and yellow colors. And that's how I came up with the name Spike, I wanted him to be a cool fish.

You might be wondering why there is a paper with a lot of different blobs of colors on this page, that's

all the colors that are in my fish painting. Most of the colors are in the tail but then some of the dark ugly colors are in the fish body and fins itself because I didn't like the dark colors that I made so I mixed them all together but not too much that you don't notice that there are still lots of different colors in there.
