Interpret Meaning:

My drawing shows a tree that, instead of growing typical fruits and/or flowers, it grows shoes and socks. I chose this option card because the idea of a tree that would grow shoes and socks is actually very heartwarming considering it would help a lot of impoverished people who can't afford such.

Describe Materials:

Gel pen, drawing paper, and colored pencil

Describe Process:

I experimented with pen shapes to make the texture in the bark and leaves and pen shading for shadows. The lines are all connected and became the squiggly bark texture as I moved up the tree, making knots and branches with darker and different direction pen strokes. To improve upon my painting I would have added watercolor to the background to give depth.
