Color Design

Artist Statement:

For the Color Design project I was tasked to create a colorful piece that would display a total of 84 colors, shades, and tints, in a creative and original way. My original thought process was to create something realistic and something found in the real world, just because that's my style! I thought of animals and things I see in everyday life to try to find something colorful and something that drew my interest. I chose the chameleons because they have a variety of colors and have a natural gradient. I thought that arranging the colors would be easier this way because of their color changing abilities.

Although this project is unfishished my favorite part about it was incorporating and mixing all of the colors together. It was satisfying to see the animals and background come to life so quickly with only a change in shade. I was inspired to create chameleons because of their natural bright colors and their abilities to change colors. I wanted to create a realistic piece while still having fun with color.
