artist statement:
I love to create realistic heart art and was inspired by my love of hearts to create this peice. the most challenging part was to carve the ventricles and make the peice smooth afterI carved it. The blood drops coming off of the heart are a last minute touch I decided to add to make it look more realistic
how it was made:
I created the cylinder
waited for it to get leather hard
carved it into the heart shape I wanted
added underglaze, then it was bisque fired
after it was bisque fired I added clear glaze to make it shiny then it was fired again.
