This piece is another part of my heart investigation and is inspired by my zodiac sign, I am a pisces. I have been interested in astrology since childhood and I also enjoy reading my daily horoscope and the horoscopes of my friends. Also I wanted to incorporate a recycled element because plant and wildlife conservation is very important to me.  I did so incorporating a used plastic bag that I had cleaned. 

I started this piece by creating a triangle of aluminum foil.  Then I created a layer of clay around the triangle of aluminum. to that layer of clay I added fish body shaped chunks of clay, I smoothed then down as much as possible then baked the heart. Once the heart was baked I painted it blue/green then I used the recycled plastic to create the fished delicate looking fins and tail.  once the plastic fins and tail were attached I used a orange sharpie to create the orange spits of a coy fish. I then created the structure and painted that white too. After the structure dried I hung op the piece. 

the most challenging part of this heart was finding a way to incorporate a recycled material. this task was a very important part of this project so for brainstorming purposes I tried to think of things I used everyday that could be incorporated in my work. Because they would otherwise have no use at all. So a plastic bag I had used for my snack that day seemed like a perfect option to recycle and make an interesting piece of artwork.
