Sustained Investigation #10

Quiet Room

Digital art on Procreate

Like the other two room designs this piece connects to my inquiry question because its a plausible setting within the story, being one of the three main characters bedrooms. With littel decoration a little tells a lot, there is star and space theming like in the other two rooms to foreshadow the story. There are a few albums on the wall and a few other decorations but otherwise everything is very orderly and empty. The shades on the windows are mostly closed. The color pallet is darker then the others. All of this because this character is the only one that already knows about the aline life and that she will be abduced soon, she just didn't think her friends would come along for the ride.

This piece was made on the digital programm Procreate using an apple pencil as a stylist. I wanted all three rooms to be uniform so I made them all the same way using the same brushes. Still this gave me control over object placement and freedom to experiment with color pallets that I would not have gotten from traditional art. I do like traditional art and do all my sketches with pencil and paper but its nice to mess around with setting especially considering I am an indecisive person who changes little details around a lot until i'm happy (for example the carpet went through a few randitions)

This piece started off as a sketch like the other two did, admittedly I had a hard time coming up with a layout that was destinket from the other two. One skech had the bed facing across the room, another had a unique wall structure with a little nook in the room.  I choose something slightly more basic mostly because I wanted to include a piano and that was already harder to do structure wise, I even ended up giving the instrument a non-traditonal stand because drawing a diagonal stand in perspective always looked off. Finally the color pallet was choose because it matches the character, who is slightly more dreary then the other two.
