"How can I make art that all connects to one story" was my inquiry question that I based this investigation off of.
I feel as though my most successful project during the sustained investigation was SI#2, I put the most time and effort into it during all the steps. I worked on the sketch and the pose, I looked up references, I experimented with different color pallets and completely changed the background at one point because I thought it could be better. Overall its my favorite because of all the detail I was abel to put into it.
I feel the least successful with SI#1 mostly because I did't put much thought or time into it. Being the first project for the sustained investigations I was unsure about the timefrain, panicked, and just rushed the piece in a day. With all the other pieces I can at least say I worked on them over a multipel day period.
I've struggled with detail over the sustained investigations, take one were I think I did it well SI4, its very detained yet it still feels incomplete because it could have used some color, something I could not in after the linework was done. The works were I think I had a good balance is SIs 2 and 3 because the objects have detail but are also not starile to look at.
I want to work with more colors going forward with theas sustained investigations. I think it will make them all look more finished.
I feel like i'm getting more creative with my character designing skills because of this sustained investigation. Expeshaly with the alien designa some of them actuallly feel alien to me now.
My main takeaway from the feedback is to draw the more of the characters interacting with their environment, fooling around, fighting, etc.
