This project was more realistic. We were to come up with ideas for what to do with the outdoor STEM space outside of the Maker's Space on our campus. It was a very broad project and every group came up with many unique ideas.
For this project, I was partnered up with Ryan and Alisa. At the beginning of this project, we practiced analyzing and recognizing the key factors of what a good proposal should consist of by looking at four different proposals for our new STEM building. After, we came to a conclusion that good proposals should have detailed site layouts, a budget / cost, clear plan, blueprints, models, and a detailed design. We came up with many different ideas for the Outdoor STEM space, but we ended up focusing on building an aesthetic-looking area with a gazebo. We wanted to have the gazebo as the center of attention for this area. Our plan was to put in a gravel pathway around the gazebo and compliment it with green plants and wooden benches. This builds a pleasing physical appearance. Throughout the process of our plan, we kept in mind of the sunlight given off by the sun at different times of day. We tried to make this area as sufficient as possible for people of all ages during anytime of the day or the year.

This project was less hands-on that previous projects. It consisted of making many blueprints and models instead of building, which was still fun. However, this project was a little difficult because two group members were absent on an important, productive day. But we didn't let that stand in the way of coming up with a great plan for the Outdoor STEM space. This determination is a good example of Conscientious Learner. When the two group members were gone that day, the person that was there helped us get caught up on what we missed. This shows that our Communication as a group was very strong. Some things that I felt like I could have done better is Collaboration and Critical Thinking. I tend to not be productive when I feel like I have nothing to do. For my next projects, I want to try to always find something to do when I've finished a task. As for Critical Thinking, I want to dive deeper and ask more questions on relating topics to get a better understanding of what we're learning. For example, when I was confused about what to do for the use of water and heat, I just put what I assumed was it instead of asking questions for clarification. Next time, I will keep in mind that working on Critical Thinking and Collaboration is going to be my goal for the next projects.
