I am passionate about sports, specifically gymnastics. I love gymnastics, and I did it for 11 years before going on to teach it as my job. I've learned so much from this sport, and it's helped to develop my interest in how the human body works. As I've experienced many injuries due to gymnastics and came back from them, I've learned about the importance of taking care of your body, especially for athletes. This interest could be applied to the Capstone project through coming up with ways to facilitate athletes after serious injuries.
I've always excelled math at school. It's a subject that has always come naturally to me. I enjoy solving math problems, especially when I understand it. I am also good at working with others, which can be very helpful in a group setting. I feel that I work better when in an environment in which I feel comfortable sharing my opinion as well as hearing others share their ideas.
I would like to research more about the movement of the body and how it can be better restored after something is injured. I'm interested in learning about how the systems of the body are internally connected. The way it moves is very fascinating to me and I'd like to understand how we are able to function throughout our daily lives and in sports.
I hope to build on my passion in the Capstone by coming up with ways to help athletes reduce and prevent injuries. I hope that researching the human body will give me a better understanding of what happens when athletes hurt themselves.
