Build a Band

The Build a Band Project was all about creating and designing an instrument. I made the wind instrument. Since we didn't get as much time in the builder space we had the opportunity to take pieces from previous group's instruments last year. The first thing I did was look for a pvc pipe or metal pipe around 33 cm because I was doing the c4 note. After I got my resources I had to drill holes in certain areas so they would play the correct notes. Once I finished all of that I cover up one side of the pipe with duct tape so air woudlnt go out.

This is my groups doc, it shows everyones instument and many more important details.

Learning Targets :

Frequency - The number of vibrations per second. The frequency is equal to the wave speed divided by the wavelength.

Wavelength - Distance of one wave from crest to crest or trough to trough . The wavelength is equal to the wave speed divided by the frequency.

Wave Speed - How fast a wave travels (velocity). The wave speed is equal to the wavelength times frequency.

Amplitude - Distance from midpoint to max point of a wave. Amplitude is related to the intensity.

Transverse Wave - A wave vibrating at right angles to the direction of its propagation.

Longitudinal Wave - A wave vibrating in the direction of propagation.

Electromagnetic Spectrum - The range of wavelengths or frequencies over which electromagnetic radiation extends.

Reflection

This project went really well in my opinion, Two things I did good on were communication and collaboration. My group worked really well together. Whenever anyone needed help they would ask and we would try to provide them with whatever we needed. Working well as a team made the project go a lot smoother.

A few things I could improve upon during the next project are related to conscientious learning . I want to dig deeper into the topicso I can truley understand how everything works. I want to be able to truly understand everything involved in my project. I also want to challenge myself a little more and try and build something outside my comfort zone.
