Intro to sport and Goals

My sport

The sport that I am currently playing is lacrosse. I have been playing lacrosse for a few years and in general my family has been very involved with it. To be a good player you need to have a handful of things, it depends on the position. But id say the main few things are strength, awareness, and speed. You need to have a feel for the game, some people are born with it, some arent. For my specific position, (defense) from the skill related components I need power, reaction time, and coordination. For the most part though every position needs a little but of everything. It wouldnt hurt to have.

My goals

My goal is to build muscular and cardiovascular endurance for lacrosse. People say it the fastest sport on 2 feet and I agree. It takes a lot to run that much and be at peak performance all game long. That games are a long time. We arent good at all to be honest. We havent won a game yet so my main goal this season is to win a season. I also just want to get stronger by hitting the gym in the off time.

For speed I am going to do monthly miles, hopefully getting faster and faster. Writing this now I certainly have. My very first mile was around 10:32, not the best. Now my mile is around 9:12. Still not the best but its improvement and I am happy about it. By football I want to get into the 8's, I am on pace but need to still work. My speed and endurance is getting better, which was the goal. For the weight room however I am tracking my Prs mentally. Every month or so I pr on Bench, Squat, and power clean. My Prs have gone up a lot. Bench, 175 to 205, squat, 255 to 315, clean, 165 to 185. I am happy but I need to aim for better. 225,335,and 205. If I can achieve this I will be even more happy with myself and my improvements.

Evaluation

End of season evaluation, We originally were suppose to play 13 games but it got cut down to 11 due to a couple things. Our 12th game was suppose to be against Saint Vincent de Paul but they are in their spring break so we had to cancel the game. Our last game of the season was suppose to be against San Rafael but they forfeited their season so ours was cut short unfortunately. Honestly this season was very fun for me despite loosing a lot. Goals wise Id say I did pretty good. I gained a lot of endurance and strength which is what I wanted to do. Along with that my other goal was to win a game and we won 2! Lacrosse I feel like benefited me for football. I just built a lot of endurance and as of now I want to continue that so Im ready for football. One thing that does suck is off the field I suffered a bad head injury (Im fine now!) so that ended my season and might be a minor setback for football. It sucks but this just brings out my grit and determination for the game. As of now I am just quickly healing and waiting to get back to the gym and doing daily things. I have been going on a few runs and jogs which is good. Back to the evaluation, I personally feel like I could have been a lot more aggressive during the games. I dont know what it was but at some times I just lacked effort. I dont know if it was cause we were always loosing or what but honestly I just wish I could go back and change that. I dont think I did that good as a leader. I just wasnt as a leader. Its just kinda hard to explain but I just simply wasnt. I just didnt step up and take charge in the situations I should have
