Capstone Step 5-8
Evidence of Work:
During Steps 5-8 we started to wrap up our prototypes and we had an actual working model. We created a design defense presentation that goes over our product, design, costs, and much more. We also set up multiple posters with our website, team website, and product information in order to set up for STEM Senior night where we showed off our project to the parrents and staff. We had multiple people come up to us that actually know what they were talking about and they gave us suggestions. For example if we got a DC fridge we wouldnt need the inverter and about 20% of the power is actually lost to the inverter. We also printed out multiple flyers for presentation night advertising our product and goal. We also wrote a design defense lap report which can be seen a couple of images down. Reflection:
Overall these steps were my favorite of the capstone so far. It was all very hand on in terms of finishing our prototypes. I also enjoyed creating the posters and presentations because I knew that was how we would be showing off our product to our peers. A couple thing that I have learned from the capstone project is that if you split up the work between group members and truly collaborate and bring eachothers ideas to the table then a lot of work is very acomplishable. There were weeks where we had a lot of assingments and when we split them up equally it didn't even feel like that much work. One thing that I will try to work on in my next group project is trying to encourage my more quiet and heldback groupmates to share their ideas more. I tried to include everyone in the capstone project and everybody brought very good ideas to the table. I can say with 100% guarentee this was my favorite project of high school.
