Break It Apart!

Evidence of work:

This project was mostly about studying the internal compositions of an object you chose, and learning how those components work together to allow the object itself to work. We were first asked to choose an object that Mr. T would either accept or tell you that you need a different object. After we got our objects approved it was time to start taking them apart into individual components. We were also asked to draw a conceptual sketch of our objects and its components. This was the most challenging part of this project because my artistic skills aere not good enough to create a accuratley portrayed conceptual sketch of my object. The conceptual sketches had to be scaled and have different perpspectives on the object. After we drew the conceptual sketches we moved onto to a flow chart. In this flow chart we potrayed the energy flow through the object. This was another challenging part of the project due to the research aspects of this specific part.

Reflection:

his project overall was a very fun and interesting experience for me. I have always wanted to do this type of learning that is more hands on than textbook. I feel like this class is goig to bring that idea to life for me. One thing that I think went very well during my project is that I covered all of the individual parts of the conceptual sketches and all the perspectives. Another thing I think that went well was that I used my time in class and out of class very effenciently and most of the time I wouldn't neccesarily be doing that. I think this hand on style of learning is actually encouraging me to learn. A couple things that I wish could have gone a little better was the set up of my conceptual sketches and my flow chart. Although my conceptual sketches had everything they needed such as perspective and scaling I could have had a better layour that expressed how the individual pieces went together. My conceptual sketches were more than one while I could have just combined them into one. I also could have probobly included a few more energy transfers into my flow chart. A couple of skills that I have gained from this project were time managment, and concentration. This new hands on form of learning that i'm not super used to using is motivating me to manage my time better in class and out and it is also helping me concentrate because the work feels less like work and more like fun.
