The Internal Committee of the Associated Graduate Students (AGS) launched the Graduate Student Life Survey in 2018-19 with the primary goal of identifying strengths and weaknesses in the UCI graduate student experience. The motivation for the survey was to collect and present comprehensive, empirical data. These data not only aid AGS in its advocacy efforts on behalf of graduate students, but also provide information for campus partners regarding student needs. With advocacy in mind, our report focuses most heavily on areas we have identified as needing improvement or further attention. These areas include mental health, housing, parking, income, professional development, and awareness of AGS programming and services. The following report describes our key findings, with survey details and statistical modeling available in this document’s appendix. You can find a link to the full report here.
