When we say something is an "aesthetic", we mean something that fits a certain style, tone or taste. For example, late 90s 3D graphics that feature shiny reflections and themes of futurism fit in with the Y2K aesthetic.
Armored Core contains an overall Industrial Sci-Fi aesthetic.
There are two types of aesthetics: visual aesthetics and audio aesthetics. Simply put, visual aesthetics are seen, audio aesthetics are heard.
Emo Subculture
Common Aesthetic Qualities
Clothing/fashion: band shirts (mainly from emo bands), skinny jeans (also commonly distressed/ripped), hoodies, dark makeup such as black eyeliner and dark eyeshadows, piercings (especially facial) and accessories such as chokers and edgy wristbands.
Colours: primarily dark colours, with black being the prevailing colour but also including colours like navy blue and dark red.
Music: primarily emotional music with a prevalent subject of emotional hardship, with subgenres including emocore (emotional hardcore), emo pop and screamo. Popular emo bands include My Chemical Romance, Fallout Boy and blink-182.
