Design ideas

As you can see, I started off by sketching my six design onto the template after that I use fine line pen to make the drawing more understandable and stand out more this can be done by using a smaller tip fine line pen to show layers and the part where resin has to go afterward I used a bigger tip fine line pen to highlights empty holes and around the mosquito coil holder.

I started the rendering process by choosing where my light source is going to go in this case mine is on the top left of the paper I then proceed to color in using the lightest color first and then started shading from the right side which is the darkest to the left side which is the brightest I also achieve a wood like texture by using a dark pencil to create hairy line.

Digital Design work

In this lesson I redesign my mosquito coil holder in procreate. This process can be done by adding multiple layer so the sketches would be less complicated.

After downloading the template and finishing my six design I fine line it using a black thin line to show the layers of resin and wood.

I sketch my digital design onto an iPad by using an Apple pencil. I create multiple layers to prevent confusion such as drawing onto the same layer and being unable to erase the mistake you wanted to.

I create another layer for the paint realistic resin color to go. I then make sure there's no space between each line so the system wouldn't high light outside the mosquito coil holder. After selecting the inside by using the select tool and the inverted tool I am able to erase around the outside of the holder design filling in the wood and resin detail into the space In the process.

As you can see I started adding shadow to the mosquito coil on my left. This can be done by using the select tool to select the part where you wanted to shade in. By doing this procreate would prevent you from shading outside the object afterward I decided where my light source is going to be and make the corner furthest away from the light source darkest using a clean air brushes.

After adding shadows I begun to add white refection on the surfaces where lights hit the most to show how shiny the resin or the wood is.
