In this lesson I researched about Alexandra Dillon and her unique art work. I started by gathering information about her art style afterward I typed my researched information such as how she painted faces of animals and humans with great detail onto small object such as paintbrushes and padlock I then printed out some of her work and using it along with scrap paper before writing my information in.
To be able to paint accurate skin color I mixed Cadmium yellow medium with Burnt umber to create the darkest skin color and slowly build up the colors gradient to the lightest skin color this can be done by adding lighter paint such as the titanium white to the acrylic color I mixed. I've noticed that I added too much water to my acrylic painted causing the paint to not be smooth so I will be adding less water to my work next time
I've use a template given to me by mrs Pardoe to further understand how facial features is drawn such as having to draw the eye half way down your faces and the very top of your hair extends upward from the top of your head. After learning how to draw faces i've realize that the width of your eye is almost the same with the space between your other eye.
After learning how to draw facial features. I begin to sketch out faces of one of the student using a black and white reference photo. this can be done by placing the smaller reference image onto a bigger paper then start marking where each detail's going to go. In this case I put a little dot on where the eye glasses supposed to go off the paper and how low the nose is in the original photo afterward I shaded in all the shadows to show the part of the face where lights didn't hit. I discovered that I struggle to smoothen the shadow to make it look more realistic and needed to use the blending stump more.
After learning how to draw realistic faces we randomize the artist and research about them to understand their face shape and unique clothing to later paint them onto objects.
