Procedure

• Read story
• Allow students to turn their stick into Not A Stick
• Bring group together to talk about their Not A Stick creations

Directions to Students

• The ONLY tools that you may use for this activity are: popsicle stick, 2 index cards, crayons/markers
• No other tools or supplies may be used
• You only get 1 stick so plan carefully

Extension Activities

• Have students create the next page of the story.
• Have the students extend the text that is already in the book “It’s not a stick, it’s my fishing pole....”
