Procedure

• Read story
• Give each student a box
• Allow students to turn their box into Not A BOX using only scissors, crayons or markers
• Bring group together to talk about their Not A Box creations

Directions to Students

• The ONLY tools that you may use for this activity are: scissors, crayons or markers
• No other supplies may be used
• You only get 1 box so plan carefully

Extension Activities

• Have students create the next page of the story.
• Have the students extend the text that is already in the book “It’s not a box, it’s my castle….”
