Procedure

• Read story
• Trace the opening of the toilet paper rolls on a coffee filter or foil to make a circle.
• Cut out the circle so it is slightly larger than the opening. Draw a constellation inside the traced circle. (Use nonfiction books to reference as needed.)
• Use the tooth picks to poke holes to make the stars.
• Use rubber bands to secure the constellation over the opening of the paper tube. Shine a flashlight through the other end. (Project against a dark surface.)
• Try this activity using coffee filters, foil and/or index cards to compare results. (Note: cell phone flashlights may work best for this activity.)
