Trace the opening of the toilet paper rolls on a coffee filter or foil to make a circle.
Cut out the circle so it is slightly larger than the opening. Draw a constellation inside the traced circle. (Use nonfiction books to reference as needed.)
Use the tooth picks to poke holes to make the stars.
Use rubber bands to secure the constellation over the opening of the paper tube. Shine a flashlight through the other end. (Project against a dark surface.)
Try this activity using coffee filters, foil and/or index cards to compare results. (Note: cell phone flashlights may work best for this activity.)
