• Read story
• Talk about use of 4C’s in the story
• Talk about a time you had a problem and you solved it

Directions to Students

• You need to make a list of ideas that you have that can be created using recycled materials
• Draw and design your creation
• Create and test your creation
• Make improvements
• The goal is for your Galimoto to actually roll. We do not want to build a sled
• Your creation may not be bigger than a lunch tray (height and length)

• This activity is designed to allow students to plan a creation and see it through to completion.

This activity is the same as Galimoto just with a different text and you can customize the design challenge as you see fit for your class. The learning is in the problem solving, resiliency and creation.

Extension Activities

• Add a monetary amount to each item used. Ask students to come in below a certain budget.
• Measure the distance traveled with different inclined planes
