Changing your mind

In our worship this week, we're thinking about the importance of changing our minds. Jesus uses the parable of the two sons (26th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year A) to help us understanding that it's OK to make the wrong choice first time around. We all make rash, silly decisions that are wrong. However, the important message is to think better and change our minds. We have to try hard not to be too proud but instead to have the humility to recognise when we're wrong and make a better choice.

Changing the minds of others!

In this week's witness worship, Miss Birtles helps us to understand that it takes courage to think better and change our minds when we make the wrong choice. However, it also takes courage to change the minds of others when you know their behaviour is wrong too. With the help of our wonderful Admin Assistant, Miss Blandford, we explore the amazing impact that Paul Stephenson (a civil rights campainger) had on the lives of people in Bristol.

The Great Outdoors

On Tuesday 22nd of September, Year 4 ventured to Chitty's Common to go pond dipping. As the children were exploring the boardwalk, they identified different types of trees using a leaf classification key. They also had the exciting challenge of completing a treasure hunt based on what they could find on the common. This warmed them up for the final challenge that involved identifying how healthy the pond was. Thanks to the lovely weather, we managed to see a range of insects including, dragonflies, water snails and tadpoles. The water was much clearer than we all expected which meant the pond is keeping nice and healthy despite the local building work. It was a fantastic day out and the children learnt lots of valuable information for their Science and Geography topics.

In Year 6 this week, they have been focusing on the truly captivating wordless novel 'The Arrival' by Shaun Tan. Take a look at how the children have let their imaginations take over, creating settings to intrigue and entice the reader.

Psalms in Year 2

A beautiful day's RE in Year 2 - responding to a Psalm of God's love through the medium of watercolour. Finn was telling me how we know about God's love because he made the world and, most importantly, space too! Finn also added the school to his painting - a beautiful reminder that we experience the generous love of God through the interactions we enjoy in class. Wonderful work Finn!

Decisions, decisions for 5C

Our lives are full of decisions - some choices are easy and others are impossible! This week, 5C take us on a wonderful journey - sharing powerful examples of witnesses who made both good and bad choices, and what became of them.
