Phase III of this project focuses on the engineering design and alpha prototyping. This phase includes detailed engineering designs and updated system specifications. The team must present professional drawings and models and a fully-functioning alpha prototype. The team must also have a testing and evaluation plan for their alpha prototype as well as a project plan and BOM (Bill of Materials) for the following semester.

The team met this week to discuss the following:
Joint Options:
Box Joints (w/ Glue)
Slant and Drawer should have the same box joint sizes
Dovetail joints (w/ glue and manual post processing)
Connection Options:
Engraving to half thickness of walls for lining
Requires thinner walls; Need to determine what depth laser cutter is capable of
Potentially use Dado Machine
Prototypes to print:
Slant
Changes: No cut out, additional bottom piece to integrate with drawer top
Drawer
XS
3D Printer
Flash Forge
The team met this week to discuss the joints options for the modules. The team decided to produce its alpha prototype with Laser Cutting Machine that was provided by Stevens Institute of Technology. The team came up with two options either Boc joints or Dovetail joints. The team also discussed about prototypes that needs to be printed.
Action Items:
Finalize CAD models for laser cutting.
Build a prototype with cardboard.
Start working on Phase 3 Report and Presentation.
Week of Nov. 17, 2022
The team met this week to discuss the following:
Recap with advisor to discuss Phase II presentation and steps moving forward
Look over feedback from the Phase II Presentation and implement improvement suggestions
Discuss plans for Phase III
The team met this week to review the feedbacks from the Phase II presentation panel. The team decided to update the material cost based on woof panels instead of its unit volume. The team also discussed plans for Phase III and their alpha prototype.
