With the beta prototype material being finalized as 1/8-in tempered hardwood from home depot, tolerance testing was conducted. This was done to minimize and potentially eliminate the need for glue. This opens up the possibility of conveniently shipping cut parts for simply assembly.
Kerf compensation was done by creating the same box by offsetting the dimension to account for the thickness of the laser. The laser diameter was unknown so trial and error was used. 0.12mm to 0.15mm offset was most optimal. The cube without compensation would still be usually with glue. 0.5mm was far too much compensation.
