Approach to Training

The COMPAS end-user training program is designed to help every employee feel confident and supported as we transition to the new COMPAS system and Employee Self-Service (ESS). A mix of training and support resources have been made available before go-live, ensuring you have the knowledge and tools you need to be successful.

Training materials include:

• Job Aids provide quick, step-by-step instructions for key tasks across COMPAS Navigation, Position Control, Personnel Administration, Payroll Administration, Labor Allocation / Time & Leave, Reporting, and Employee Self-Service. These job aids offer written documentation that you can return to at any time.
  
  

• Web-Based Training (WBT) modules introduce core concepts and workflows at your own pace. These modules help you become familiar with the system and prepare you for hands-on practice in virtual instructor-led sessions.

• Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) practice sessions provided participants with the opportunity to try out real scenarios with guidance from Learning Orienteers and members of the COMPAS project team. These interactive sessions were designed to build confidence and answer practical questions.

• Study Halls, offered several times per week, where you can drop in to get support, ask questions, or reinforce your learning with help from the training and change management teams.
  
  

• On-line support, including context-sensitive help within COMPAS and Advantage Assistant support resources. These videos and screen guides give you immediate help as you learn and use the system.

• Refresher Training will be offered closer to go live to help users feel confident using the new payroll system at go live. 

• Help Desk and Post Go-Live Support. After launch, the Help Desk will receive and triage support requests, ensuring timely resolution. Additional training resources will continue to be available as the system evolves. 

With a variety of learning options and ongoing support, you’ll have what you need to navigate COMPAS confidently and successfully.
