Feast Day: January 26
Patron Saint: Invoked Against Stomach and Intestinal Disorders
Saint Timothy was born to a Jewish woman and a Greek man. He met St.Paul, while he was on a missionary journey to Lystra, Asia Minor which is where Timothy lived at the time. Paul asked Timothy to join him since Barnabas and John left him recently. Timothy joined him along with St.Titus (Titus shares the same feast day with Timothy). Then Paul made Timothy his representative for the Thessalonians, Corinthians, and Ephesians. After that Paul made Timothy, bishop of Ephesus. He opposed pagan festivals, so he tried to stop a procession in honor of Diana (Roman goddess of the hunt), by preaching the gospel. The angry pagans martyred Timothy by killing him with stones and clubs. He died around 97 AD. To become a saint you must have two miracles, and Timothy had three attributed to him. He saved a women from torture, he saved someone from drowning, and he cured a blind person's eyes. I chose Timothy as my saint because my great-grandma wanted a son named Timothy, but she only had girls.
