Feast Day: May 10
Patron Saint of: Lepers
St. Damien was born in 1840. Damien sought to help others and he wanted to follow his faith more in depth by becoming a priest. St. Damien of Molokai was a saint who helped the lepers at Molokai even when he knew that if he stayed he would also catch leprosy. Damien caught leprosy and he died in 1889.
I chose St. Damien of Molokai to be my Confirmation saint because he was the first saint that I ever learned about. His story was so inspiring to me that after I read a book about him, I immediately knew that he was going to be my Confirmation saint. Damien inspired me to follow our faith more deeply and to continue following in the steps of himself.
