Polygraph or Guess Who?
In this activity, students have a wide range of images shown on a projector screen. One person from the class is nominated to secretly choose an image and classmates try to guess what it is by asking yes/no questions. The goal is to eliminate images from contention until the correct secret image can be guessed. This is great way to see what language students possess about a topic and to get information that might help teachers understand the mental models they possess about a topic.
A description of the activity is available here: Polygraph or Guess Who?
