Card Sorts
This is a matching game activity where students match representations of math concepts with definitions, etc. As an example: “3/4” on one card and “three quarters” written on another, or a visual representation of that fraction. These cards can be created using recipe cards, or something similar and is adaptable to any topic where multiple representations exist for a concept. It is a useful strategy to see what mental models students have.
