Street Projects

The City of Spencer Street Division is responsible for maintaining approximately 100 miles of streets and over 3,000 signs. Employees of the Street Department also maintain the Northwest Iowa Regional Airport, City of Spencer Tree Site as well as the city's fleet of vehicles.

The Street Division receives Road Use Taxes from the State of Iowa which are the primary source of revenue for its operations. For capital needs, the Division relies on a portion of the Local Options Sales Tax receipts.
