HISTORY

Once again, we find the origin of Buli’s name to be botanical. It is believed that Buli is named after the buri palm which is abundant in the area. The buri palm lives for up to 30 years. It grows all over the country from low to high altitudes. Buli is located in the northern section of the city.

Buli Health Center is a government owned health facility that aims to provide free health care assistance to citizens. This landmark fully embodies the third mission statement of our city, which is to provide quality social services to everyone.

Anuva proclaims itself to be a haven for families and loved ones. This landmark contains numerous water features, jogging paths, bike trails, playgrounds, and so much more.

SPECIAL EVENTS

The Feast of San Nicolas de Tolentino of Barangay Cupang-Buli

Every September 10, devotees to San Nicolas de Tolentino rejoice as they celebrate his feast day. The miraculous image of Impong Kulas is currently enshrined at the Parish of San Nicolas de Tolentino, established in 1987. The devotion so San Nicolas was developed due to the numerous miracles during his intercession.

Buli Outreach Program

In September of 2018, different private sector workers reached out to community partners in Buli to help provide residents with basic needs. Their overall objective was to not just give, but also inspire. In an article, they even stated "Sometimes, all they need is a cup enough to keep their tummies warm to make them feel they can conquer the world again."
