HISTORY

The name “Alabang” derives from the two words Alibangbang and Abangan. During the Spanish era, the plant Alibangbang was abundant in that area. The tree had a thick branch and big leaves. The people of Alabang would wait for bandits to steal their stocks, hence the reason why the word abangan contributed to the name. Though alibangbang can no longer be found in that area, and bandits are not being expected at night, the history of the name forever remains. Barangay Alabang is shaped like a heart and is located at the center of our bustling city.
