HISTORY
Just like Bayanan (and many of the other barangays in Muntinlupa), Barangay Putatan is a name with derivations of botanical origins. Putatan was named after an abundant plant in that area, the Putat, which is native to mangrove habitats on the tropical coasts. Putatan is located at the south of our city. It is bounded by barangays—Alabang and Bayanan on the north, the Laguna de Bay on the east, the Muntinlupa Poblacion on the south; and barangay Ayala Alabang on the west.
