Changing Filament

Unloading Filament

  1. Select "Filament" from Menu
  2. Select "Unload Filament"
  3. Wait for Extruder to heat
  4. The Extruder will melt the tip of the filament
  5. Once it is done, remove the filament from the hole at the top of the machine (seen below)
  6. Spin the spool of filament to get it out of the white casing
  7. Once it is all out, you are free to remove the spool

Loading Filament

  1. Place a spool on the holder
  2. After being secured, spin the filament through the white casing until it gets through to the other end
  3. Once it is through the other end, place it into the hole at the top of the machine (seen below)
  4. Select "Filament" from Menu
  5. Select "Load Filament"
  6. Wait for Extruder to heat
  7. Once the heating is done, your new filament is ready for use

Unloading Filament

  1. On the LCD panel, select Utilities > Change Filament > Unload
  2. Wait for Extruder to heat up to set temperature
  3. Pull Filament free from the Extruder gently (seen below)
  4. Remove the old spool

Loading Filament

  1. On the LCD panel, select Utilities > Change Filament > Load
  2. Wait for Extruder to heat up to set temperature
  3. Upon heating to set temperature, the LCD panel will notify you to load the filament into the extruder (seen below)
  4. Feed filament into extruder until you feel the motor tug on the filament
    • ***NOTE: MAKE SURE THE FILAMENT IS MARKED PLA. IF YOU USE ABS IT CAN CAUSE THE PRINTER TO BREAK***
  5. While it tugs, keep pushing until you see the extruder release filament
