SCHEDULE REVIEW CHECKLIST - ADVISORS
Option to use SFAREGQ in Banner 9 to easily view student schedules. Sort by “Begin Time”.
Pull the Confirmed Student report from Tableau. All advisors have access to this report. You can filter by your name and by student type (Freshmen, etc.). This document shows you how to save your own view and have it emailed to you on a regular basis.
View Qualtrics data in Tableau to identify/prepare for issues that may arise.
Fall schedules listed in "23-Fall Schedules" column, which is currently column AO
Columns "13-Chemistry", "14-English","14-Psychology", and "15-Math" include transfer, AP, and 1818 credit for these subjects.
Columns "29-Transfer Credit" and "28-Dual Enrollment" are self-reported by the student
Foreign Language interest (Q1.19)
Minor/Double Major interest (Q3.16, Q3.21)
Conflicting information (i.e., claims to be an Athlete but not on Athlete list, Pre-Med vs. Not, etc.)
Reporting major scheduling conflicts
Time/Travel conflicts.
Full-time status/appropriate enrollment in all required courses for that major.
If schedule is incomplete due to Math/Science/English, enroll based on Placement scores.
If schedule is incomplete due to Core/Pre-Reqs, enroll based on Qualtrics responses (as best you can).
Honors status, and ensure that 1 Honors course is on the student’s schedule. If that’s not possible, contact Honors to inform them. Q1.11 of the survey gives students a chance to choose an Honors class.

REGISTRATION TIMELINE for Freshmen
Registration Logic -
Domestic students must complete PLACEMENT TESTS and ATTEND SLU 101 before registration logic runs.
International students must complete PLACEMENT TESTS and have VISA IN SYSTEM (or attend SLU 101) before registration logic runs
late June - Registration logic for program-specific courses (Med Scholars CP1, etc.) and Learning Communities
June 30 - Learning Community application deadline
June 30 - placement test/survey re-take deadline
July 1 - Advisors register athletes students for complete schedules
July 3 - Remaining registration logic
July 6 - Logic stops running
July 7 - first week of classes - Advisors register all students individually

Once the advisor touches the schedule, it will not be changed by the automatic registration logic.
EXEMPT
Meet with exempt students as soon as they are marked exempt - no need to wait for mid-June.
If before July 3, meet with students to cover advising information but do not register them. Regi will pick them up.
If after July 3, meet with students and register them for a full schedule.

Two weeks before classes start - copy of visa must be received
August 14, 2025 - International Student Orientation - mandatory
Registration Holds
New students will not receive registration holds. Instead, they will have a SCHEDULE RELEASE DATE in Banner.
This date is on the initial SFAREGS screen under the TERM box.
Date will be set to August 1 for all incoming students.
Advisors can change the date if they meet with a student and want to give them earlier access to their schedule.
August 2 - we will apply RA holds to any student who
has not attended SLU 101 or been marked exempt.
