Advisee Assignments
The assignment of Academic Advisors is made by each of the academic advising units.
Supervisors will determine their unit’s process for assigning Academic Advisors.
Academic Advisors names are added to students’ accounts using Banner (SGAADVR). This information is processed overnight and will be available in reports the following work day.
Once advisor names are added to SGAADVR, Academic Advisors can access their SLU 101 listing on the Tableau report.
Primary Academic Advisors must be assigned 5 calendar days prior to the start of each SLU 101 session.
Students may be assigned on short notice during SLU 101:
There are a small number of student "walk-ins" (students who show up to SLU 101 without registering). The largest number of walk-in's takes place during the last session, as the University tries to ensure that these students attend SLU 101. Unit supervisors will assign these students to advisors that morning.
Some students change their major during the SLU 101 program and will need to meet with a new advisor. Each unit has a way of dealing with these changes.
