To be determined at the initial site visit. Option: help identify potential grant funding to create an outdoor playscape and write literature review on benefits of outdoor play.

Please review posters and abstracts from past semesters to gain a better idea of what previous teams have focused on with the children and classrooms.

Services 

Population

Children ages 6 weeks - 5 years enrolled in the Early Childhood Education Center.

Programs

The Early Education Program specifically provides activities and education for children form 6 months to Kindergarten. 

It uses a nationally recognized, evidence-based curriculum, Teaching Strategies Gold, to monitor growth and development

All teachers are trained in the Parents as Teachers Foundational curriculum, the Dial, Denver, ASQ, Kindergarten readiness and Social Emotional screenings. Education programs are based on a sliding scale fee. Scholarships and state assistance are available.

**  Patsy often goes into the classroom between 10-2 and is unavailable during that time.

Dress Code: Business casual, no scrubs, no hats, no hoodies, little jewelry. Bring minimal personal items.

Tuesday, Sept 19 - Mandatory Episodic Community Partner Orientation:

All Students working with Unleashing Potential are required to attend the Episodic Community Partner Orientation (ECPO) for Unleashing Potential hosted by Karrie Simpson. The ECPO lasts ~30 minutes . This orientation will take place over Zoom at : https://slu.zoom.us/j/95623994554 


Students will need to complete the Following prior to the 9/19 orientation:

Volunteer - Family Care Safety Registry *please note students are not required to pay the $13 fee; Unleashing Potential pays the fee
