The International Institute of St. Louis is a after school program that provides opportunities for immigrants and refugees to thrive in order to create a welcoming, prosperous, and healthy region for all.
Student projects address this.
Goals for teen program include information in the following areas:
College readiness
Future Careers
Hygiene
Substance Use
Sex Education
Students may be able to work on providing teens assistance with college applications and college scholarship applications if this is a current need.
Final project TBD; will discuss with Katherine at initial site visit. Most likely project will focus on education related to one of the above five topics.

Target Population
Teen Immigrants and Refugee high school students attending St. Louis Public Schools (NCNAA, Roosevelt, Gateway STEM and Soldan)
Programs
The International Institute offers essential economic and cultural integration services, including English classes, employment, orientation, and citizenship preparation. They also host events and make presentations to build inclusive and mutually respectful relationships between foreign-born newcomers and all community members.
