Student project address this

Potential Project 1. Pre- and Post-Season Functional Assessments - Students run simple, fun movement assessments (balance, grip strength, flexibility, reaction time) at the start and end of a season. Provides measurable data for families on progress, while giving students practical assessment experience OR 2.Parent/Caregiver Education Nights at our practices where the students plan and host short sessions on topics like injury prevention, adaptive exercise, stress management, or healthy snack prep OR 3. Adaptive Coaching Toolkit where students create laminated quick-reference cards or short training videos for Miracle League and adaptive sports volunteers. The students could also cover communication tips, safe spotting, and modification ideas for various abilities.

Adaptive Sports Buddy: Adaptive sports programs at the Y provide children and adults with disabilities the chance to play sports and participate in learning opportunities in a safe, fun atmosphere. Support the child you are matched with for the entire time of the event: game, warm-up, breaks. Assist the player in safely engaging in play according to their needs and direction.

Adaptive Sports Coach: Adaptive sports programs at the Y provide children and adults with disabilities the chance to play sports and participate in learning opportunities in a safe, fun atmosphere. Assist the players in safely engaging in play according to their needs and direction along with keeping everyone safe.

Remote opportunity: Reading Tutors - Tutors meet once or twice a week for an hour with their student for a period of 1 year. Tutoring happens in-person at local libraries or online through Zoom. No experience is necessary. We will provide training and materials.

Days/Times:

Weekday evenings and Saturday mornings.
