Parent & Student Handbook 26-27 will be released August 1st. Unitl then this is the accurate handbook for admissions
Parents are the primary educators of their children. Parent involvement is therefore highly encouraged and important to the success of the total school program. Open communication between home and school facilitates the growth of the JDCHS community and provides an opportunity for teachers and parents to work together for the good of the students. JDCHS expects parents to conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with Christian standards of morality regarding their support, behavior, and dress. Parents represent both the schools and Skaggs Catholic Center while on campus, at school-sponsored events, and in the greater community, in the way they dress, the way they behave, and their interaction with others. All parents are expected to promote the Catholic community and the values and behaviors espoused by the Diocese of Salt Lake City.
At Juan Diego, the education of a student is a partnership between parents and the school. Just as the parent has the right to withdraw a child if desired, the school administration reserves the right to require the withdrawal of a student if the administration determines that the partnership with the parent(s) is irretrievably broken.
REMINDER: The rules, regulations, and policies of Juan Diego Catholic High School are in effect for the entire time a student is enrolled at the school, including school holidays and summer vacation.
Parents or legal guardians anticipating being out of town for any significant length of time must inform the student’s Counselor and the Administrative Assistant in Student Services so that alternate emergency information may be obtained. Failure to do so puts the student in the precarious position of having to self-report absences, which is not acceptable.
Juan Diego Parent Association: promotes and facilitates communication among Juan Diego parents fostering a strong sense of community within our school so that everyone can be involved in Juan Diego’s many activities, clubs and teams and annual projects unique to our school and campus. All parents and guardians of our Juan Diego students are automatically part of our JDPA.
The Juan Diego Parent Association meets for informal morning coffee socials each month to connect parents to projects as well as other activities and initiatives throughout the school year in support of Juan Diego Catholic High School. Information regarding our JDPA Coffee Socials as well as current volunteer opportunities are posted in our Juan Diego Weekly Parent Communications sent to all JD parents and guardians each Tuesday. JD volunteer opportunities can also be found on our JDPA Webpage http://parents.jdchs.org/index.php/home.

No parent, guardian, student, or individual may solicit or secure donations, discounts, or products on behalf of any team, club, or organization affiliated with JDCHS or the Skaggs Catholic Center. To ensure equity among programs and maintain strong community partnerships, only the administrations of the three schools or their designated representatives may pursue these opportunities. High school programs may participate exclusively in the Soaring Eagle Banner Program, which is the only approved sponsorship initiative.
