During the school day, students may come to the Library with permission from their teacher. When in the Library, students are expected to be respectful of other students, staff, and school property. Beverage bottles with small tight-fitting lids are acceptable, but no food is permitted in the Library.
Requests for books to be added to the Library are welcome and encouraged. Please submit your requests to the Librarian at the Circulation Desk, or by logging into the Library website: Destiny
Students, Faculty, and Staff may access the Library catalog at JDCHS Library (Destiny) and see what items are checked out to them, including textbooks. To create an account, follow the prompts and enter the assigned school username and password.
Checkout Period: 21 school days. (Does not include weekends or holidays.)

Items may be renewed unless they are on hold for another patron.
Items may be renewed one of 3 ways:
Self-renewal online at Destiny
Emailing the Library Staff requesting a renewal
Going to the Library Circulation desk and requesting a renewal
Holds may be placed on books at the Circulation Desk. Students will be notified by email when their items are available for checkout. Available holds expire in 1 week.
“Due date” stickers are attached to books at checkout. Students will be reminded via email when items are overdue. Once an item is returned, the overdue fine is assessed, and the student is expected to pay the fine. If unpaid fines exceed $5.00, checkout privileges will be suspended until they are paid.
If an item is lost, the student will be charged the replacement cost of the item. Checkout privileges will be suspended until paid. If the item is found and returned in acceptable condition, a refund will be given.
If an item is damaged, a fine will be assessed based on the extent of the damages. If the item is damaged beyond repair, or if any mildew is present, the student will be charged the full replacement cost of the item.
