YuJa Video Editor

The Video Platform offers fully integrated video editing capabilities that are accessible from Manage Media. Video editing allows Content Creators to create professional and polished media content. The Video Editor is non-destructive, your edited video is saved as a new file, and without damage to the original media.

Access Video Editor

Video editing tools are accessible for both captures/recorded and uploaded media.

  • Log into YuJa and hover over the video you want to edit and select Edit.

Using the Video Editor - Cut

There are Basic and Advanced Video editing options:

  • Cut (scissors icon) - remove unwanted content from any point within the video. Drag the progress pin to the time you would like the cut to begin and click on Cut.

    • Double click on the Cut to Apply.

    • Hover the cursor to the time you want the cut to end and left click to stop the cut. Undo cut by clicking on Undo or by clicking the X in upper right corner.

    • Click Save to record the changes.

Using the Video Editor Features - Insert a Slide

  • Undo/Redo - undo or redo last action

  • Inserting a Slide (projection screen icon) - upload a file to take the place of a designated portion of media content.

    • Click on Insert a Slide button and choose Select File. (.pptx, .docx, .xlsx, .pdf, .jpg or .png)

    • Enter Override Time and Duration, click on Apply.

Using the Video Editor Features - Insert a Video

  • Inserting a Video

    • Drag the time slide to the point in which you would like to insert a new video

    • Ensure the Advanced Mode button is set to Yes.

    • Click on Insert Video button, locate the video you want to insert.

Using the Video Editor Features - Image Tools

The Platform's Video Editor offers three different image-specific editing options. Using these tools, you can insert a watermark into your media content, blur portions of an image on your screen or add a virtual background. These changes will appear after the media has re-processed.

  • Inserting a watermark enables you to brand your content if you intend to share content publicly.

    • Select Media and choose Edit. Ensure Advanced Mode button to Yes.

    • Click on the Image Tools button and choose Insert Watermark/Overlay.

    • Select File and choose an image, click on Open.

The Insert Blur Region tool enable you to blur all or a portion of an image shown on your screen or to fully blackout a portion of the media. Effective way to hide personal information, unneeded content, and/or to redact a portion of the media entirely.

  • Select Media and choose Edit. Ensure Advanced Mode button to Yes.

  • Click on the Image Tools button and choose Insert Blur/Blackout Region.

  • Check Blackout Entire Video to redact the entire screen, or leave unchecked to blur only a portion of the media and select Apply.

  • Click and drag the gray rectangle to the portion of the media you would like to Blur. The gray rectangle will be replaced with a Blur Region after saving.

Applying a virtual background to any stream enables you to customize your video

  • Select Media and choose Edit. Ensure Advanced Mode button to Yes.

  • Click on the Image Tools button and choose Add Virtual Background.

  • Select a File and choose an image and click on Open.

  • Select which Stream you would like to add the virtual background to and click on Apply.

Using the Video Editor Features - Text Overlay

The Video Editor provides the addition of Text Overlays. Great way to add supplemental information.

  • Select Media and choose Edit.

  • Click on Text Overlay button and select the desired Stream to overlay.

  • Enter Text, select Font Size and Duration, click on Apply.

Using the Video Editor Features - Editing Captions

The Video Editor provides a full-featured caption editor, providing the ability to add, change, delete captions, or to alter the timestamp associated with a caption.

  • Select Media and choose Edit.

  • Click on CC button, from there you can do any of the actions listed below.

    1. Update the closed-captions' timestamps: Adjust the start and end times for each closed-caption line.

    2. Edit the closed-caption texts: Change the closed-caption texts to add notes, correct wordings, update pronouns, etc.

    3. Delete a closed-caption line: Remove any unwanted closed-caption lines by clicking on the Trash icon right next to the line.

    4. Add a new closed-caption line: Add a new closed-caption line to any point of the media by clicking on the button Add Caption at mm:ss button.

  • When done, click on Save.
