Joining a Classroom

For students, here are instructions on how to join a Classroom.

Joining a Class

As a student, you can join a Classroom when your instructor has the invite screen open with the code. Once they open up the invite, go to Settings and look for Classroom. You should click on the Classroom name and enter the code.

Helpful items:

  • You'll need to make sure you're on the secure campus Wifi, not the Guest Wifi.

  • Your instructor needs to keep the invite window open for it to show up as an option in Classroom.

  • By default, the first time you join a Classroom from your iPad, it will set up your join settings to Automatic. This means that any time one of your professors opens a Classroom you're enrolled in, you will automatically join the Classroom.

  • You can tell that Classroom is open and connected by looking in the top right of your screen. There should be a blue monitor icon or an orange icon with a person raising their hand.

  • If you follow the items above and you're still having issues, please contact the OIT Service Desk.

Changing Your Name in Classroom

To change your name in a Classroom you've already joined, go to Settings --> Classroom (the option under Bluetooth) --> find the class that you want to change your name in --> select My Information and you can change your name.
